The North American Youth Championship will take place from October 1-5 in Mazatlan, Mexico. The tournament is divided into female and absolute sections in Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18. The official announcement is in Spanish but interested players can contact Mr.Chuck Lovingood for more information at clovingood@uschess.org or 931-787-1234, ext. 148. The host committee will cover room and board for one official player in each section from each country, but the USCF will not be providing further financial assistance. The winners of each section will earn the title of Candidate Master or Women's Candidate Master and an official spot into the 2010 Pan-American Championships. |
